1. How can I get the HomeWave service for my portable computer?

The Peak Positioning HomeWave service is currently only sold and distributed via Peak Positioning’s Reseller Partner network to business customers. So the best way to obtain HomeWave for your portable computer is to contact the person in your company responsible for sourcing your IT solutions. You may also want to visit our sales section for more options.

2. How is HomeWave different from other remote data protection solutions?

One on the things that makes the HomeWave service unique in the industry is the fact that it is based entirely on wireless communications technologies, which means that it can be initiated and take effect the moment you notify your IT department of an incident. Unlike other services that passively wait until a reported-missing computer is used to connect to the Internet before any action can be taken, with HomeWave you can immediately initiate communications with the reported-missing computer and take action the moment the computer is reported missing. This not only translates to much better effectiveness in protecting the integrity of the missing system’s data, but also to potentially much shorter time to recover the reported-missing system.

3. Will the HomeWave service work even if the missing computer is turned off?

Yes. If the computer happens to be turned off when it is reported missing, the HomeWave service can still be provided, which means that the system will remain inaccessible to unauthorized users.

4. Will the HomeWave service work outside of North America?

Yes. Just like your mobile phone will still work if you travel outside of North America because of your wireless carrier’s roaming agreements with other wireless carriers around the world, so will the HomeWave service be able to follow you wherever you happen to be traveling.
